CBD is illegal in Cameroon. Law No. 97/019 of 7 August 1997 treats all cannabis derivatives as Table I narcotics without a THC threshold that would exempt cannabidiol products. The Ministry of Public Health has not authorised CBD as a pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or cosmetic ingredient, and no marketing authorisation has been issued through the Direction de la Pharmacie, du Medicament et des Laboratoires (DPML).
Pharmacies in Douala and Yaounde do not stock CBD oils, tinctures, capsules, or topicals. Travelers carrying CBD products risk seizure and prosecution under the narcotics provisions of the 1997 law, even where the product is lawful in the country of origin. There is no legal carve-out for industrial hemp-derived CBD or for low-THC isolates.
