CBD is illegal in Cote d'Ivoire. Law No. 88-686 treats cannabidiol derived from cannabis sativa as a stupefiant without a THC-threshold exemption. The Autorite Ivoirienne de Regulation Pharmaceutique (AIRP), established under Law No. 2015-533, has not issued a marketing authorisation for any CBD product, whether prescription, OTC, supplement, or cosmetic.
Pharmacies in Abidjan, Yamoussoukro, and Bouake do not stock CBD oils, tinctures, capsules, or topicals. Online imports via courier are intercepted by Customs. Travelers carrying CBD products through Felix Houphouet-Boigny International Airport risk seizure and prosecution under the 1988 narcotics law, regardless of the product's legality in the country of origin. No industrial hemp-derived CBD carve-out exists.
