CBD is illegal in Egypt. The Anti-Narcotics Law No. 182 of 1960 lists cannabis and its extracts as banned substances without distinguishing between THC and other cannabinoids, so hemp-derived oils, isolates, and topicals all fall inside the prohibition.
The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA, the regulator that replaced the Central Administration of Pharmaceutical Affairs) has not registered any cannabidiol product, and pharmacies do not stock Epidyolex or comparable medicines. Travelers carrying CBD oils, gummies, or vape cartridges face seizure and prosecution under the same articles applied to THC-containing cannabis, with possession exposing defendants to multi-year sentences. Customs officers do not recognize US or EU hemp-derived exemptions.
Online retail of CBD products into Egypt is blocked by customs, and no domestic e-commerce channel exists.
