CBD is illegal in Eritrea. The 2015 Penal Code does not distinguish cannabidiol from other cannabis derivatives, and the Eritrean Ministry of Health Pharmaceutical Services has not registered any cannabinoid medicine.
No low-THC threshold or pharmaceutical exemption applies. The National Medicines and Food Administration controls all pharmaceutical imports, and Epidyolex and Sativex are absent from the Essential Medicines List. Given the heavily controlled commercial environment and very limited published Eritrean case law on novel cannabinoid products, in-country interpretation is uncertain; consult qualified Eritrean counsel before any compliance decision.
