CBD is illegal in The Gambia. The Drug Control Act 2014 covers cannabis and its derivatives without a THC threshold that would exempt CBD products. The Medicines Control Agency, established under the Medicines and Related Products Act 2014, has not authorised CBD as a medicine, food supplement, or cosmetic, and no marketing-authorisation procedure for cannabinoid products is in force.
Pharmacies in Banjul, Serrekunda, and the Kanifing Municipality do not legally sell CBD products. Imports of CBD oils, gummies, tinctures, or topicals are treated as cannabis derivatives under the Drug Control Act and seized at the border.
