CBD has no formal retail authorisation in Gibraltar. The Medicines Act 2014 and the Drugs (Misuse) Act 1973 frame cannabidiol oversight. Gibraltar's Medicines Authority and the Gibraltar Health Authority follow United Kingdom Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) policy: CBD products marketed with medicinal claims are treated as unlicensed medicines, and CBD products with detectable THC are treated as controlled substances under the Drugs (Misuse) Act.
No domestic novel-food regime equivalent to the UK Food Standards Agency's authorisation list has been established for CBD food supplements. Pharmacies on Main Street do not stock CBD oils as licensed medicines; the only routinely available authorised cannabis-based product is Epidyolex (cannabidiol) on prescription for specific paediatric epilepsies via the Gibraltar Health Authority. Recreational CBD products remain outside the legal supply chain.

Import and export of CBD require Medicines Authority authorisation. HM Customs Gibraltar treats unauthorised CBD imports at Gibraltar International Airport, the Port of Gibraltar, and the La Linea frontier as Medicines Act offences and, where THC is detectable, as Drugs (Misuse) Act breaches.
