Recreational marijuana is illegal in Greenland. As an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark, Greenland applies Danish narcotics law through the Greenland Criminal Code (Kriminallov for Grønland) and the Royal Decree extending Denmark's Act on Euphoriants (Lov om euforiserende stoffer) to the territory, with adaptations administered by the Government of Greenland (Naalakkersuisut).
Cannabis (hash, locally called hampe or pot) is a Schedule B controlled substance. Possession of small amounts typically triggers fines of DKK 2,000 to 5,000 for a first offense; supply, smuggling, or possession above roughly 50 grams can produce sentences of up to 6 years under the Criminal Code, served at Anstalten i Nuuk. The Royal Greenland Police (Politiet i Grønland) handles enforcement, and Air Greenland passengers face routine baggage screening at Kangerlussuaq and Nuuk airports. Denmark's social cannabis market at Christiania does not extend to Greenland.

Import and export of cannabis are prohibited. The Greenlandic Tax Agency (Skattestyrelsen) and Customs intercept parcels at the Nuuk postal hub and air-cargo terminals. Sniffer-dog units have been deployed since 2018, and concealments in Royal Arctic Line shipping containers are a routine prosecution target.
