CBD is illegal in Guyana. The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act makes no exception for cannabidiol, and the Government Analyst Food and Drug Department (GAFDD) has not authorized CBD products for sale, import, or medical use.
No THC threshold separates hemp-derived CBD from full-spectrum cannabis under Guyanese law. Pharmacies cannot stock CBD oils, and online orders are intercepted by CANU at the parcel post facility. The 2021 cannabis reform did not address CBD; advocacy groups including the Caribbean Collective for Justice continue to lobby for medical access, but no draft bill is before Parliament as of 2026.
