Recreational marijuana is illegal in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The Drugs (Prevention of Misuse) Act, Cap. 219, criminalizes possession, use, cultivation, and supply of cannabis, and the 2018 Medicinal Cannabis Industry Act did not decriminalize adult recreational use.
The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force enforces narcotics offenses, and Argyle International Airport customs screens passengers and parcels. Possession penalties range from fines to imprisonment up to three years; cultivation and trafficking carry up to seven years. The Traditional Cultivators Amnesty under the 2018 framework allowed historic growers in cannabis-cultivating communities like Owia and Fancy to transition into licensed medical cultivation, but recreational sale and consumption remain criminal.
