CBD is illegal in Sierra Leone. The National Drugs Control Act 2008 schedules cannabis and its derivatives without exempting cannabidiol or providing a THC threshold. The Pharmacy Board of Sierra Leone, established under the Pharmacy and Drugs Act 2001, has not registered any CBD product on the National Essential Medicines List or as a permitted nutraceutical or cosmetic.
Pharmacies in Freetown, Bo, and Kenema do not stock CBD oils, tinctures, capsules, or topicals. Travelers carrying CBD products through Lungi International Airport risk seizure and prosecution under the 2008 Act, regardless of the product's status in the country of origin. There is no industrial hemp-derived CBD carve-out.
