Industrial hemp is illegal in the Solomon Islands. The Dangerous Drugs Act, Cap. 98, controls the entire Cannabis sativa L. plant without a low-THC carve-out, and no commercial hemp licensing scheme exists under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.
Hemp seeds, fiber, and hemp-derived foods cannot be lawfully imported or cultivated. Solomon Islands Customs applies the cannabis schedule to all Cannabis sativa material. Penalties under the Dangerous Drugs Act include fines and imprisonment, with cultivation prosecuted identically to high-THC cannabis. Pacific Islands Forum agricultural diversification papers have not yet translated into Solomon Islands hemp policy.
