CBD is illegal in Suriname. The 1998 Narcotic Drugs Act controls cannabis without a cannabidiol exemption, and no Surinamese authority has approved a CBD-containing medicine. The Bureau Volksgezondheid (BOG) Ministry of Health pharmaceutical registry contains no registered CBD products.
CBD oils, tinctures, and gummies are treated as controlled cannabis products regardless of THC content. Suriname Customs at Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport seizes CBD products from passengers arriving on KLM flights from Amsterdam, even where Dutch law permits CBD with under 0.05% THC. Penalties under the 1998 Act mirror those for cannabis.
