Cannabis sativa cultivation in the Bekaa-adjacent regions of Homs and Qalamoun is associated with the illicit market and has been a target of post-2024 enforcement. The Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform does not register hemp seed varieties, and hemp foods or fiber products are not approved for import. Penalties mirror those for marijuana cultivation under the 1993 decree.
