CBD is illegal in Tuvalu. The Illicit Drugs Control Act 1990 does not exempt cannabidiol from cannabis prohibition, and the Ministry of Health has not authorized any cannabinoid medicine through its limited pharmaceuticals procurement programme.
CBD oils, gummies, and topicals are treated as cannabis derivatives at the border. The Princess Margaret Hospital in Funafuti, as the country's sole hospital, does not stock cannabinoid products, and the medicines schedule maintained by the Ministry of Health excludes cannabis derivatives. Travelers carrying CBD products from regional hubs face seizure at Funafuti International Airport.
