Automate Compliance TodayThe Danish Euphoriants Act applies to the Faroe Islands via royal decree (anordning nr. 1349 of 23 November 2015), implemented by Bekendtgørelse nr. 495 of 26 May 2026 for the Faroes on euphoriant substances, whose List B item on cannabis controls all above-ground plant parts but expressly excepts the fruits of the hemp plant (hampefrø) and isolated fibre. Bare viable seeds are therefore not controlled substances, and their sale, acquisition, possession or gifting is not a drug offence, though supplying seeds for intended illicit cultivation could attract accessory liability, as in Denmark. Cultivating cannabis is prohibited without authorisation: licensed commercial hemp growing (max 0.2% THC, plots of at least 0.3 ha, annual permits) is allowed, and other cultivation is restricted to licensed medicinal production.
