Overview
Apex Trading makes wholesale management software and a B2B marketplace for the cannabis industry. A 2020 company page says it was founded in 2018 and is headquartered in Portland, Oregon; its current about page lists a mailing address in Oregon City, Oregon. The platform has two sides: sellers use it to run wholesale inventory, orders and sales, and buyers use it to source products from wholesale suppliers. On its demo page, Apex says thousands of companies across 29 state markets use the platform.
For sellers, Apex tracks inventory in real time with a METRC integration and pushes processed orders to QuickBooks. Invoices are generated automatically and can include licenses, certificates of analysis and ingredients. Sellers can build branded storefronts and custom menus that show set prices to specific buyers, and they can post an inventory menu on their own website. A wholesale CRM supports account management, and multiple user accounts with permissions let a sales team share the system. Sales reports and market pricing trends support planning.
For buyers, Apex offers a free marketplace account. Buyers can browse live wholesale menus, search by attributes such as category and product type, send product requests to one seller or the whole marketplace, set alerts based on price and quantity, and order from current or new vendors. In 2021, Apex announced a partnership with BDSA to combine wholesale and retail cannabis pricing data.
As of October 2026, Apex says its integrations cover ERP, accounting, logistics, compliance and communications tools; its integrations page describes METRC and QuickBooks and links to ReadyPaid. On pricing, Apex says it charges a flat-rate SaaS fee instead of a take rate on each sale, with no revenue sharing. A May 2025 company page aimed at Ohio operators describes the platform as built for cultivators, extractors and manufacturers. Apex announced a $1.67 million Series Seed round in 2019.
