Is marijuana legal in Egypt?
Recreational and medical marijuana are illegal in Egypt. Anti-Narcotics Law No. 182 of 1960, amended notably by Law No. 122 of 1989, criminalizes cultivation, possession, sale, import, and export of cannabis in all forms, expressly including hashish, bango (local-grown herbal cannabis), and resin extracts.
Is CBD legal in Egypt?
CBD is illegal in Egypt. The Anti-Narcotics Law No. 182 of 1960 lists cannabis and its extracts as banned substances without distinguishing between THC and other cannabinoids, so hemp-derived oils, isolates, and topicals all fall inside the prohibition.
Is hemp legal in Egypt?
Industrial hemp is illegal in Egypt. There is no licensed cultivation program, no THC threshold separating low-cannabinoid Cannabis sativa from drug-type cannabis, and no commercial fiber or seed-food industry.
Can you travel to Egypt with cannabis or CBD?
Cannabis import and export are prohibited and may be charged as capital trafficking offenses. CBD imports are banned.

Anti-Narcotics Law No. 182 of 1960 (as amended by Law No. 122 of 1989) criminalizes the cultivation, possession, sale, import and export of cannabis, and buying, selling or posting viable cannabis seeds is prohibited. Cultivation with trafficking intent under Article 33 can attract life imprisonment or the death penalty plus heavy fines. Industrial low-THC hemp cultivation is reported to occur only under direct government permission, and no open commercial market in viable hemp seed exists, so agricultural seed access is best described as tightly restricted.
