Overview

Dutchie is a cannabis technology company that sells retail software to licensed dispensaries, plus a separate product for cultivators and manufacturers. The company says more than 6,500 dispensaries use its platform and that it operates in more than 40 markets across North America. Dutchie first launched in 2017 in Bend, Oregon, with three local dispensaries, and 2021 press coverage describes it as based in Bend.

The retail line is built around a dispensary point of sale that Dutchie offers for operations of any size. Alongside it are ecommerce menus (including an E-Commerce Pro tier with customization, AI personalization, and built-in loyalty and marketing), a native mobile app that each retailer publishes in the Apple App Store and Google Play under its own name, and self-service in-store kiosks. Multi-location operators can view inventory across stores, transfer product between locations and automate replenishment. Reporting covers sales, tax, payment, discount and operational data across stores and channels, with exports in CSV, XLSX, JSON or PDF.

For compliance, Dutchie says its software sends each required update to the state traceability system in real time, with reporting for Metrc, BioTrack and state-specific systems such as CCRS. The POS enforces purchase limits by customer type, includes ID verification at checkout, and supports Metrc Retail ID scanning. Dutchie also provides label templates for required product information and keeps audit records of transactions, adjustments and transfers.

Dutchie's Pay by Bank product lets shoppers pay from a bank account online or in store. Dutchie states that it covers chargeback liability for the dispensary and that funds settle the next day. For delivery, retailers manage routes, zones and driver assignments inside the POS without a separate add-on, set cash and inventory limits per vehicle, and can connect delivery partners such as Onfleet.

The Cultivation and Manufacturing product handles seed-to-sale tracking, batch management and compliance, with direct Metrc and BioTrack integrations. Dutchie says it integrates with more than 100 technology partners; its integrations page lists tools such as QuickBooks for accounting, Springbig for marketing, LeafLink for wholesale and IDscan.net for ID verification. In 2021 Dutchie announced a $200 million raise together with the acquisition of Greenbits and LeafLogix, and later that year it raised a $350 million Series D.
