Overview
IDScan.net is an identity verification company with its US headquarters in New Orleans, Louisiana. It describes its product as an AI identity verification platform for high-volume ID checks, and its age verification offering covers alcohol, tobacco and cannabis sales. For cannabis retail, the company markets its VeriScan software, with optional scanning hardware, through a dedicated dispensary page.
At check-in, VeriScan alerts staff when an ID is suspicious, expired or belongs to someone under 21, and each scan starts a visit record that can be logged, tracked and exported. It can also scan and parse medical marijuana cards from 19 states, and the iOS version reads mobile IDs, including IDs stored in Apple Wallet. IDScan.net states that its ID Authentication tier and specialty hardware can detect up to 95 percent of fake IDs.
For purchase limits, VeriScan can flag customers who try to buy more than daily maximums allow, and it can share visit and purchase history across locations to stop customers from looping between stores. Scanned ID data can be sent to Dutchie, Sweed and other POS or track-and-trace software. PII retention settings allow operators to flush stored ID data entirely to meet privacy laws, which the company ties to states such as Montana that limit how long scanned data may be kept.
VeriScan runs on iOS and Android devices, and the ID Authentication product is Windows-based. Devices can sync to a central portal for settings, reporting and updates. As of October 2026, the pricing page lists VeriScan plans from $35 per month for a single device up to $155 per month per device for ID Authentication.
In a May 2018 release, IDScan.net said Nevada's Department of Taxation had named it an approved ID scanner vendor for marijuana dispensaries. A separate company release says Planet 13 uses its solutions to read physical and digital government IDs.
