Overview
POSaBIT is a cannabis retail technology company that sells a point-of-sale system, online menus and payment processing for dispensaries, along with data and payment tools for brands. It was established in 2015 and lists an address in Seattle, Washington. The company trades publicly on the Canadian Securities Exchange as PBIT and over the counter as POSAF. In April 2023 it acquired assets of payments provider Hypur in a deal announced at US$7.5 million.
POSaBIT POS includes built-in loyalty, customizable discounts and pre-built reports for employees, inventory managers, store managers and owners. Inventory tools cover tracking stock, accepting manifests and returning or destroying products, and the POS is designed to keep stores compliant with their state traceability system. The vendor lists age verification, purchase limits and tax reporting among its compliance features. Pocket POS puts the counter POS features on a handheld device for orders filled online, by phone, in store, curbside or by delivery.
POSaBIT Menus lets budtenders accept and fulfill online orders at the point of sale, and the vendor lists SEO tools, customizable storefronts and integrated order management. On the payments side, POSaBIT supports debit card acceptance and cashless payments for cannabis retail. POSaBIT Pay is an ACH-based option for cash-free customer payments, and POSaBIT One adds multiple processor support and payment redundancy. The payments page lists PCI DSS compliance, TLS certification where possible, and compliance with KYC, AML and state regulations.
For brands, POSaBIT offers real-time visibility into sales, inventory, discounts, manifests and samples, a VMI tool that uses sell-through data to build orders, and B2B ACH payments tied to manifests and inventory. The platform offers open APIs, and a POSaBIT post describes an integration with DopeApps. Support runs 24x7, and staff attend in person on go-live day.
POSaBIT's March 2025 announcement cites more than 500 locations in over 20 states and says it processes more than 85% of point-of-sale cannabis transactions in Washington State. As of October 2026, its about page lists more than 600 locations in 25 states.
