Overview
Treez is a cannabis retail software company that was founded by cannabis retailers in 2016. Its point of sale, SellTreez, is sold together with cashless payments, Treez Ecommerce, Treez Loyalty and a retail analytics product. Treez says more than $4 billion in transactions are processed on its platform each year. A 2022 trade report describes the company as based in San Francisco, and its about page lists a 2025 expansion into New York, Texas and Maryland.
The POS connects directly to state compliance tracking systems such as Metrc. Treez describes the integration as bidirectional, meant to keep the state reporting system and the POS in agreement, and says it automates Metrc reports and manifests. Treez help center articles explain that a customer's draft or saved sales can hold part of that customer's purchase limit and that, in states with live Metrc purchase-limit syncing, limits match the amount shown in Metrc. The articles also describe a configuration setting that lets staff scan customer IDs in the customer queue. For operators with several stores, Treez presents the system as one source of data across all locations.
Treez Ecommerce places an online menu on the dispensary's own website, with search and filters drawn from live inventory data, and Treez says this setup gives the retailer SEO benefits. Treez Loyalty lets customers add their membership to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet and runs through SellTreez POS and Treez Ecommerce. The analytics product can be viewed on a phone, tablet or computer and includes Treez-specific measures such as sellable velocity. Treez also has a two-way, real-time integration with Alpine IQ.
Treez sells one plan that includes all of its products, with pricing built around the number of stores, and it positions that plan for single stores and multi-state enterprises alike. As of October 2026, the plan includes the POS with unlimited registers, unlimited employees and API access, and the pricing page does not list prices. On the corporate side, Treez announced a $51 million funding round in April 2022, announced an agreement to acquire payments company Swifter in November 2022, and acquired Gap Commerce in December 2024.
