Overview
Würk sells payroll, human resources and workforce management software, along with managed services, on a single platform designed around compliance. The company was founded in 2015, lists its location in Denver, Colorado, and has specialized in the cannabis industry for more than 10 years while expanding into other compliance-focused industries. Its company page puts the team at 80.
Payroll includes tax filing, and as of October 2026 Würk states that it covers all 50 states, Puerto Rico and more than 5,000 local tax jurisdictions. Accounts can be set up with multiple EINs or a common paymaster, or as unbanked. Employers that want to outsource processing can use managed payroll, where certified payroll specialists run each pay cycle.
For cannabis employers, Würk tracks labor deductions related to Section 280E, stores certifications and training records with alerts before credentials expire, and covers OSHA, EEO and benefits eligibility reporting along with workers' compensation tracking. Its time and labor tools include a drag-and-drop schedule builder, and the company says its labor law compliance accounts for break requirements and overtime rules. Würk also recommends that clients work with cannabis law, tax and accounting professionals on 280E.
The platform serves employers with roughly ten to more than a thousand employees across cultivation, manufacturing, distribution and retail, from single dispensaries to multi-state operators. Würk hosts the platform on cloud infrastructure and offers a mobile app for employees and managers. Its integrations connect HR, payroll, benefits and workforce data with partners such as Cornerstone, Lattice, Legion, Human Interest and Entra ID. Würk states that it does not currently integrate directly with seed-to-sale or point-of-sale systems such as Dutchie or Metrc.
On security, Würk reports SOC 1 Type 2 audit compliance and a 24/7 security program run with Arctic Wolf. The company says most clients are onboarded within a few weeks.
