CBD is legal in Argentina for medical patients through REPROCANN and via prescription, and the consumer wellness market has expanded under ANMAT oversight. Law 27.350 and Decree 883/2020 created the regulatory pathway for cannabidiol medicines, and Law 27.669 of 2022 (the Cannabis Industry Law) and Decree 405/2023 added an industrial framework that supports CBD production.
Pharmacies dispense cannabidiol oils and capsules to REPROCANN-registered patients and to those holding individual prescriptions for conditions including refractory epilepsy, chronic pain, and spasticity. Over-the-counter wellness CBD sits in a narrower commercial lane, with ANMAT requiring registration of each product and verification of THC content. The Regulatory Agency for the Cannabis and Industrial Hemp Industry (ARICCAME) coordinates licensing for industrial CBD operators.
Imports require ANMAT product registration, and customs accepts only properly documented shipments. Domestic production has grown sharply since the 2022 law.
