CBD is illegal in Bangladesh. The Directorate General of Drug Administration has not registered any cannabidiol product, and the Narcotics Control Act, 2018 makes no legal distinction between CBD and marijuana.
Imports of CBD oils, tinctures, gummies, vapes, and cosmetics are blocked at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and overland from India. The Department of Narcotics Control treats cannabidiol the same as cannabis, which is scheduled as a Class B narcotic under the 2018 Act, with possession penalties that scale by quantity — imprisonment for smaller amounts, and possession of more than 2 kilograms can draw life imprisonment or a discretionary death sentence under the 2018 Act.
