Medicinal CBD is available in Bermuda through the Department of Health's licensing process. The Misuse of Drugs (Cannabis Programme) Amendment Act 2017 created the Bermuda Cannabis Programme, allowing physicians to prescribe cannabis-based medicines, including CBD-dominant products, to registered patients. The Bermuda Health Council regulates clinicians, and the Bermuda Pharmacy Council oversees dispensing by licensed pharmacies. Cannabidiol products with no detectable THC are also imported under wellness exemptions where Department of Health licensing applies.
Retail CBD wellness products marketed without medical claims are tolerated when imported with appropriate documentation, but commercial supply of CBD remains regulated under the Misuse of Drugs Act framework where THC is detectable. Pharmacies in Hamilton dispense prescribed cannabis-based medicines including Epidyolex; recreational consumer CBD outside the medical programme operates in an evolving grey area pending the unresolved Cannabis Licensing Act 2022.
