The Cannabis Authority, established under Section 4 of the Act and administered through the Ministry of Agriculture, regulates licensed cultivation, processing, research, and retail. Quantities above 56.7 grams remain criminal under the Drugs (Prevention and Abatement of the Misuse and Abuse of Drugs) Act, Cap. 9.08. Public smoking within 10 meters of a school or place of worship attracts a fixed penalty. Religious use by registered Rastafari has limited carve-outs under Section 30 of the Cannabis Act.
