No THC threshold separates hemp-derived CBD from cannabis under Tanzanian law. CBD oils, tinctures, capsules, and topicals are blocked at customs by the Tanzania Revenue Authority and the DCEA, regardless of foreign legality. Travelers arriving at Julius Nyerere or Zanzibar with CBD products risk seizure and potential criminal referral. The TMDA has not issued public guidance creating any medical exemption, and no foreign prescription is honored. Online orders are intercepted at the Dar es Salaam post office.
