Industrial hemp is illegal in Bahrain. Law No. 15 of 2007 controls the entire Cannabis sativa L. plant without a low-THC carve-out, and there is no licensing regime for hemp cultivation, processing, or product manufacture in the Kingdom.
Hemp seeds, fiber, protein powder, and hemp-derived foods are not permitted for import. The Ministry of Industry and Commerce and Bahrain Customs apply the narcotics schedule to any Cannabis sativa material. Penalties mirror those for marijuana under Law 15/2007: imprisonment, fines up to BD 50,000, and asset confiscation.
