Recreational cannabis is decriminalised in the Czech Republic, with personal-use possession treated as an administrative offense rather than a crime under Act No. 167/1998 Coll. on Addictive Substances and Government Regulation No. 467/2009 Coll. Possession of up to 10 grams of cannabis or cultivation of up to five plants is treated as a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to 15,000 CZK; quantities above this threshold remain criminal offenses under Section 284 of the Criminal Code, carrying up to one year's imprisonment for personal possession and up to ten years for trafficking.
The Government Council for Drug Policy Coordination and the Ministry of Health set policy, with the National Drug Headquarters coordinating enforcement. A regulated adult-use legalisation proposal led by the National Drug Coordinator advanced through 2023–2025 but had not been enacted as of 2026, leaving the existing decriminalisation framework in place.
