Industrial hemp cultivation is not authorised in Liechtenstein. The Amt fur Umwelt and Amt fur Lebensmittelkontrolle und Veterinarwesen have no public hemp-variety registry, and the Principality does not participate in EU hemp programmes since it is not an EU member.
Hemp fibre, seed, and CBD-derived consumer products imported from Switzerland or Austria are subject to case-by-case customs review under the Swiss-Liechtenstein customs union. Novel-food rules tracking the EU Novel Food Catalogue are observed via the EEA agreement, meaning CBD-infused foods cannot be marketed without authorisation.
