Is marijuana legal in Somalia?
Recreational marijuana is illegal in Somalia. The Penal Code of Somalia (Legislative Decree No 5 of 16 December 1962, originating from the Italian-derived code) criminalises trafficking and possession of stupefacenti, and the Provisional Constitution of 2012 affirms Islamic sharia as the basis of legislation.
Is CBD legal in Somalia?
CBD is illegal in Somalia. The Penal Code does not distinguish cannabidiol from other cannabis derivatives, and the Federal Ministry of Health has not established a pharmaceutical regulatory authority with capacity to register novel cannabinoid medicines.
Is hemp legal in Somalia?
Industrial hemp is not authorised in Somalia. The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation has no public licensing programme for Cannabis sativa L. cultivation, and the Penal Code captures all cannabis plant material regardless of THC content.
