Law No. 2022-407 of 13 June 2022 replaced the 1988 narcotics law (Loi 88-686) and reframed drug use as a public-health matter, introducing therapeutic injunctions as alternatives to prison for users. Cultivation, trafficking and sale of cannabis remain criminal offences, and viable seeds intended for propagation fall under the same prohibition. No industrial hemp or medical cannabis licensing scheme has been established in Côte d'Ivoire.
