Is marijuana legal in Venezuela?
Recreational and medical cannabis are illegal in Venezuela. The Organic Law on Drugs (Ley Organica de Drogas), enacted in 2010 and replacing the 2005 statute, classifies cannabis as a controlled substance and prohibits cultivation, sale, transport, and possession outside narrow research carve-outs that have produced no commercial framework.
Is CBD legal in Venezuela?
CBD has no separate legal status in Venezuela. The Ley Organica de Drogas treats all cannabis-derived compounds as controlled substances regardless of THC content, and no implementing regulation has carved out hemp-derived or isolate CBD.
Is hemp legal in Venezuela?
Industrial hemp is not legally distinguished from cannabis in Venezuela. The Ley Organica de Drogas defines Cannabis sativa L. as a controlled plant without reference to THC concentration, so the 0.3 percent threshold used in the United States, EU, and most Latin American hemp programs does not apply.
Can you travel to Venezuela with cannabis or CBD?
Import and export of cannabis flower, extracts, and seeds are wholly prohibited under the Ley Organica de Drogas. CBD products of any concentration are blocked at customs.

Venezuela's Ley Orgánica de Drogas (2010) is one of the statutes that names seeds expressly: whoever sows, cultivates, harvests, stores, or traffics, transports and distributes seeds, resins or plants containing controlled substances faces 10 to 20 years' imprisonment, and possession of seeds for purposes other than personal consumption draws 4-6 years. The law permits no cultivation, production, trade, import or sale of cannabis in any form and contains no industrial hemp category. The only leniency is decriminalized possession of up to 20 grams of marijuana for personal use, which does not extend to viable propagative material.
