Is marijuana legal in Burundi?
Recreational marijuana is illegal in Burundi. The 2009 Penal Code (Loi No. 1/05 du 22 avril 2009 portant revision du Code Penal) and Loi No. 1/02 du 5 fevrier 2008 sur la repression du trafic illicite et de la consommation de stupefiants criminalise cultivation, possession, sale, and consumption of cannabis (urumogi).
Is CBD legal in Burundi?
CBD is illegal in Burundi. Loi No. 1/02 of 2008 on narcotics does not distinguish cannabidiol from other cannabis derivatives, and the Autorite Burundaise de Regulation des Medicaments et des Aliments (ABREMA) has not authorised any consumer or pharmaceutical CBD product.
Is hemp legal in Burundi?
Industrial hemp cultivation is not authorised in Burundi. The Ministere de l'Environnement, de l'Agriculture et de l'Elevage has issued no licensing framework for Cannabis sativa L., and the 2008 narcotics law captures all cannabis biomass regardless of THC content.
