Is marijuana legal in Cameroon?
Recreational marijuana is illegal in Cameroon. Law No. 97/019 of 7 August 1997 on the control of narcotics, psychotropic substances and precursors classifies cannabis as a Table I narcotic and criminalises cultivation, production, transport, possession, sale, and consumption.
Is CBD legal in Cameroon?
CBD is illegal in Cameroon. Law No. 97/019 of 7 August 1997 treats all cannabis derivatives as Table I narcotics without a THC threshold that would exempt cannabidiol products.
Is hemp legal in Cameroon?
Industrial hemp is illegal to cultivate in Cameroon. Law No. 97/019 of 7 August 1997 makes no distinction between psychoactive cannabis and low-THC hemp, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MINADER) has not established a licensing regime, seed register, or permitted cultivar list.

Law No. 97/019 of 7 August 1997 on narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors classifies cannabis and cannabis resin as high-risk drugs. Sections 91–95 punish cultivation, production, possession and marketing with 10 to 20 years' imprisonment and fines of CFAF 250,000 to 1,250,000, a scope that extends to viable propagative seeds. Despite widespread informal cultivation in northern regions, no hemp or medical cannabis licensing pathway exists.
