Automate Compliance TodayArticles 270-276 of the Uzbek Criminal Code criminalise the cultivation and trafficking of narcotic plants, with unlicensed cannabis growing punishable by fines, correctional labour or up to three years' imprisonment, rising to five-to-ten years for large plots or organised activity. The 2000 Law on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances reserves lawful cannabis cultivation to state enterprises and scientific purposes under licence. Since March 2020, industrial hemp with THC below 0.2% may be grown by licensed operators, creating the only legal channel for viable seed. Outside that hemp regime, buying, selling or gifting cannabis seed has no lawful basis.
