Is marijuana legal in Uzbekistan?
Recreational marijuana is illegal in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Cannabis is controlled under Articles 270 to 276 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Law No. 813-XII of 1999 on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.
Is CBD legal in Uzbekistan?
CBD is illegal in Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Health's Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency has not registered any cannabidiol medicine, and the 1999 narcotics law does not separate CBD from other cannabis-derived substances on its controlled list.
Is hemp legal in Uzbekistan?
Industrial hemp is illegal for general cultivation in Uzbekistan. The 1999 narcotics law and the Cabinet of Ministers list of controlled substances cover the entire Cannabis sativa plant, and the Ministry of Agriculture does not register industrial hemp varieties for commercial farming.

Articles 270-276 of the Uzbek Criminal Code criminalise the cultivation and trafficking of narcotic plants, with unlicensed cannabis growing punishable by fines, correctional labour or up to three years' imprisonment, rising to five-to-ten years for large plots or organised activity. The 2000 Law on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances reserves lawful cannabis cultivation to state enterprises and scientific purposes under licence. Since March 2020, industrial hemp with THC below 0.2% may be grown by licensed operators, creating the only legal channel for viable seed. Outside that hemp regime, buying, selling or gifting cannabis seed has no lawful basis.
